AMD or Intel for making games

I am about to build a new work/gaming PC this summer and I can't decide what processor should I pick. I consider picking FX-8350 (or wait for steamrollers) or i7-4770k. My main tasks will be 3d rendering, working with game engines (such as CryEngine 3, Unity3d) and some gaming, but nothing hardcore 'bout that. Still, the biggest concern will be game making. Any suggestions which one of these CPU's will perform better in game making?

Solution
The i7 is far ahead in single threaded performance, but in heavily multithreaded performance the two are about the same. I'd just pick the FX 8350 since it's a hell of a lot cheaper.

No it wont "destroy" and it's better to put some money in the rest of your system.

op:What is your budget for the whole build?

sure it will beat the fx 8350 but it costs 150,- more and the performance difference is minimal when it comes down to real world performance. I think synthetic benchmarks are just stupid because they only show what the cpu does theoreticaly and not how it will perform in the real world.
