I installed my d link wireless adapter and I can see the network name but everytime I put in the password, it says that it is incorrect.

It also says that it is attempting to authenticate.

Update: Now when I thought I had it, it says that "The settings saved on this computer for the network do not match the requirements of the network."
I don't know what to do.

Okay well your leaving out some major parts. 1) is this YOUR personal network (internet) service or someone elses? 2) No model, type of router, OS of your computer, what type of security you / router has, etc. doesn't help.

So your talkign about a usb dongle adapter for wireless then? What OS?
Several older MS Os's did not support WPA until you did some updates/service packs, and thats what Comcast new wireless devises are set to by default WPA/WPA2. Some devices needs driver updates as well to support it. The other things is CASE MATTERS on the password and the comcast devices use ALL CAPITAL letters in that password on the bottom of the device.

Lets take a step back then. First you have a modem from Comcast, that is key as it is DIFFERENT then a router/modem. A router would route your/other computer requests to the modem to modulate and unmodulate over the connection (this case Cable). So your firs thing would be sure that the 'modem' isn't just a 'modem' but also a router with Wireless capabilities.

Your saying your sure it does this, and you know the specific NAME of THAT specific Comcast device, and the password. Okay step two, can you 'see that name', well you say you can, and your sure the password but it fails. Well that goes back to calling ComCast for support to ensure the wireless is setup AS YOU BELIEVE. It may not be EXACTLY as you believe, so it will never work. It is ComCast equipment and they are responsible to help you (why you pay per month).

Now if you tell me "well actually it is a friends/roommate/etc." and you know the right password, UHM THEY CHANGED IT because they DO NOT WANT YOU ON IT. Nothing on your PC you can do to fix that.
