Will your PC post at all or load into windows? If so is the BSOD typically associated with any type of activity such as streaming video or playing games?

Does your motherboard model support the memory you purchased per the manufacture's website?

Have you tried moving the RAM to a different set of DIMM Slots?

If so you may want to try reseating your CPU. (make sure you have thermal paste before attempting this as it will need to be cleaned off and reapplied.)

Nope so far I got as far as booting the windows 7 CD from the driver and it blue screens whenever it finishes loading and is about to boot windows. So I havent been able to stream or play anything yet, and I think so the RAM is a 240-Pin DDR3 1600 (PC3 12800) and the motherboard can support 2x240 DDR3 1866/1600/1333/1066/. I will try moving it to a different slot and see if that helps any.

Or test the hardware like i suggested

Ram slots are ram slots, the only change you can make with ram slots is single or dual channel ram (or taking a stick out etc)

Try manually upping the ram voltage 0.1v and setting the speed to 1066 see if that improves if you dont want to test your hardware out...

This link may offer some helpful information on the BSOD you are encountering: http://pcsupport.about.com/od/findbyerrormessage/a/stop0x0000007b.htm
Are you getting anything else such as "INACCESSIBLE_BOOT_DEVICE" with the BSOD?
Have you looked at or changed any of the BIOS settings (such as changing the SATA mode after you install Windows 7)?
Have you checked the data and power connections to the hard drive?

How would not having a HDD connected cause a BSOD? LOL!

Where in my response do you see something related to a BSOD with no HDD installed?

The part where you said "Have you checked the data and power connections to the hard drive" when the original question is about a BSOD :)
