Overclocking AMD Athlon II x2 245 CPU?

Hi, i want to overclock my Athlon II x2 245 2.9GHz to 3.1GHz for gaming. I know it's not that "big difference" but it should help me a little. Can someone explain to me how this works? 'cause i'm a noob in overclocking xD The manufacturer is AMD.

Bump the Front side bus or fsb freq up a few until u get around 3.1,which i got 3.4 with a cheaper psu and similar msi board, keep the HT near 2200 i think and ram near its default range until u know the cpu is stable, and if u need to underclock the ram but a small oc i think u will just need to move the fsb a few, my cpu is a 2.8ghz and fsb is at 265 at the moment, urs will need to be around 212-214 i beleive, which is taking ur 14.5 multiplier and multipling it by the fsb

in the bios where it shows advanced and cpu overclocking to manual and find the thing that says front side bus or fsb, or what the pic of ur cpu in cpu z says bus speed and raise to about 212-214 that should get u to about 3075 to 3.104 so 214 will get the 3104 u want

can't i use AMD OverDrive or something? because my system is in finnish, not english.

Yes u should be able to use amd overdrive to oc, but raising the bus speed will give u the overclock u want, the only issue u may get is it not working i could be wrong but the chipset on that board is a nvidia one and i had a nvidia chipset board and the overdrive utility gave me a bsod, but could of just been the board so give it a shot and attempt it

I don't have any money so i don't want to ruin my computer. so.. is there any easy overclocking programs out there in English that i could use? I only want to increase it from 2.9 to 3.1 :/ ah and one question, does it use more wats when i increase it?
