Ok, so I flipped my voltage switch first not knowing what it was. From 115v to 230v. Funny thing is people say that once you do it the psu will stop working or fuse will blow, but mine is still working. Is there anything wrong with my psu? It's a Lepa N500 Series 500w. Please answer me so if it is blown, I don't want to risk it in my system, since it might affect the components.

Nope it's not broken. The danger is when you switch from 220 to 110. My country uses 220v, and I've also tried switching it to 110v then poof. Luckily I have an AVR before, so the fuse in my AVR popped and saved my generic rig. I'm guessing your country is using a 110v circuitry, so you are just fine.

EDIT: Someone please correct me if I'm wrong, but I remember that 220v appliances work with 110v sockets. But 110v will not work with 220v.

omg please. I need more information. I'm scared as hell. Will it help calm myself if I said the PSU has active pfc? Also, I heard that switching to 230v on 115v outlet will also blow up the fuse/psu. Also, is it normal for new psus to smell like rubber. When I use the computer, I can't smell a burning rubber sensation unless I stick my nose on it and smell it. So, 1. is my computer fine, how do i test for anything wrong. 2. Is the smell normal for new psus.

Switch it back to your countries' voltage spec. I don't know where you are from. It should match your countries' spec. Don't worry about it much because if it should've blown, it would have happened when you first boot it. But it did not. But please return the switch to its original place. Since the builder of your rig must have known which volt to use.

The fuse will blow only if you pass 230volts when the switch is actually at 115 volts. This is because the fuse it rated for 115 v and when it takes 240v,it overheats and hence it blows.

On the other hand, when you pass 115v on a 240v,the fuse is actually capable of passing in more current but it currently passes less than its capacity and hence its fine. But please note that it is not fine for you components!using wrong rated voltage,in your case,115 on 240v will make the output highly unstable and thus your components life span is drastically reduced.

For the smell,it is natural as long as you dont smell it from a distance because the insulation is new and it still has its raw smell which will go off with normal use.
