How to setup raid for Asus P9X79 WS?

First time setting up raid. After reasearching, I understand that raid 0 is the best setup without sacrificing HD space? Many experts recommend Intel SATA ports to Marvel SATA ports. Should I setup raid on the two 6GB/s Intel Sata Ports? Any advice or step by step process would be appreciated. Thanks.

Intel Core i7-3930K | Asus P9X79 WS Mobo | Corsair Vengeance 32GB (4 x 8GB) DDR3-1866 Memory | Firepro W7000 Graphics Card | Samsung 840 Pro Series 256GB 2.5" SSD | Western Digital Caviar Black 1TB 3.5" 7200RPM Internal Hard Drive | Cooler Master HAF X ATX Full Tower Case

Thanks a ton, JackNaylorPE. The manual is a extremely valuable resource, which I never cared to look and assumed unreliable. It talks about two identical disk drives. So I can't do it? If raid is possible, I wish to know when does 'setting up raid' appear... as in just the basic logical steps --- Install Bios(in my case Flash bios), Install Win7 OS(SSD or HD?), Setup Raid (which sata ports?), does it affect partitioning etc.? If raid is not possible, AHCI is the option? Consider me a noob.
