After about a week of reading on the Internet I managed to get it down to a few monitors. They are the following:
-Asus VG248QE
-Asus VG27AH
And eventually(only if its worth the extra 150$) the Asus VG278HE
The new monitor will be used mainly for gaming. I also watch some movies and browse, but the main usage will be gaming. I play all kinds of games.
Thanks in advance!

You'll only benefit from the extra refresh rate if you have the hardware power to back it up. Above 100 FPS most games' performance starts to downscale severely due to how they are optimized for current hardware. Personally I would recommend IPS panels due to the color balance, contrast and viewing angles but this is a matter or preference.

Asus MX279H or MX239H depending which size you want. PB248Q is also a good pick if you don't mind 16:10 aspect ratio. Also comes in a slightly older 23" version PB238Q.

Dell also makes some popular IPS displays but I'm not too familiar with them.

The difference is 24 Hz :)

All kidding aside, supposedly adds some smoothness .......

5 x 24 fps = 120
6 x 24 fps = 144

As for IPS .... I have a Dell 24" IPS in one room and a Asus 120Hz in next. the IPS kicks tail in photo editing and such but in gaming, the 120 hz is much better.....side by side the Dell IPS looks washed out and some motion blur can be observed if ya pay attention. On a sidenote batman AC was a kick in 3D and this from a guy who doesnt like 3D movies.

I will most probably get the asus 24inch 144hz. And do you think that the 27inch version is worth the extra160$ I think that bigger is better but is the pixel pitch ok and some people say that it would be difficult to play rts games on a big screen.
