Wndows wont register my one tb hard drive

So i just built a new pc. I used a samsung 840 series 120gb ssd as my boot drive. Ater installing windows, i attached my 1tb caviar blue hard drive, but it didnt register on windows. Do i have to fiddle with some bios settings?

can you see the WD in the BIOS?

can you see the WD in the Disk Manager?

Is the WD listed in the bios?
yes - check windows drive manager and see if its listed there. If yes - initialize it.
if not check device manager.
If its not listed in the bios check the storage controller mode. It should be in ahci mode; raid would make it un-seeable.

Go into Disk management and format the drive.
