Hello everyone, I bought a new Panasonic P42XT50D Plasma 3D TV this week and I hooked it up to my GPU which is Radeon 6850 Cyclone via HDMI. I had a Samsung 32" LCD and I upgraded to 42" plasma. Now, my problem is that I'm not getting smooth display like I used to get on my 32" LCD. May be not smooth but easy on the eyes. The plasma's native resolution is 1024 x 786 but I don't see that option on Catalyst so I'm running on 1280 x 720 and that's what Win 8 takes as default. I don't have problem with everything, the texts are affected mostly. Smaller texts are jagged but bold and larger texts are smooth like on LCD. I don't know where the problem lies but it must be something with Settings or Catalyst. Plus, when seen from front, the display is pretty grainy unlike on LCD. Some of you guys use plasma as monitor so may be you can help me with this. What settings should I use ? My GPU has only HDMI and DVI, no VGA. So please help me with this.

P.S, I love plasma over LCD just bcoz it's faster and movies / games look great on it.

:ouch: 1024x768 on a 42 inch screen! It's not smooth because it's not running on it's native resolution. Your Samsung probably used at least 720p 1366x768. Are you using HDMI for your PC?

I've looked up the specs on that TV. Native resolution is indeed 1024x768. That would be just awful for PC use on a large wide screen. Windows 8 does support that resolution. You may need to look in the Windows settings rather than the Catalyst settings.

If you can't find 1024x768 on the normal Screen Resolution page by right-clicking the desktop and selecting "Screen Resolution", click on the "Advanced settings" option. Click the "List All Modes" button on the Adapter tab. There you will be able to choose your desired resolution (1024x768).

It shows 640x480, 720x576, 800x600, 1152x648 and then 1280x720 :( no 1024x768. It's strange.

Here are the tV Settings I'm using :

Viewing Mode : Cinema
Contrast : 50
Brightness : -1
Color : 55
Sharpness : 0
Tint : 0
Color Balance : Normal
Vivid Color : Off
Eco Mode : Off
P-NR : Off
Screen Display : On
3D Detection : On
3D Signal Message : On
IFC : Off
Side Panel : High
16:9 Overscan : Off
Pixel Orbiter : Auto
Power Save : Off

I'll try to put it on 1920 x 1080 and overscan. I'm also installing Win XP tomorrow so I've to check and I'll report back.

If you have any more suggestions, I'll be grateful :D
