Just got a new H87I-plus for my haswell build and I cannot seem to find a driver for this unknown device. I've attached a screen shot below. Any thoughts or tips that come to mind?

Solution
If you insert and let the installation DVD that comes with the motherboard autorun, it will automatically install the "Asus COM" service and this will get recognized as a "AMDA000" interface.

Should be included on the driver cd that came with your motherboard; if not download it from ASUS support page. The intel driver is a generic driver that has no OEM customization. You will always want to download specific drivers from your motherboard's manufacturer.

I've installed every driver on the cd and have even blown it all away and loaded windows a 2nd time to try it again. Still not working...getting desperate.

No, I don't but it should included on the disc. If you have installed everything on the disc and you still have issues, you may want to drop ASUS support an email. Maybe they have a better solution for you, sorry.

The device is a BIOS component found on Asus motherboards to allow Asus utilities and software to communicate with BIOS components.
Drivers and Software

This device is not installed by using the Intel Chipset Driver software or Intel Management Interface (MEI). To find the drivers for this device, visit the Asus product support page for your product and look for an ACPI Driver under "Utilities".

For those who have an Asus Motherboard Support CD and are wary of downloading files from unknown sources here’s an optional method to find and install the AMDA00 driver for the Unknown device - ACPI.

1. Go to Device manager.
2. Double click the unknown device. This will take you to the Properties page.
3. Click Update Driver
4. Choose the 2nd option “Browse my computer for driver software".
5. Browse to your Motherboard Support CD (sometimes only the drive letter will appear; X:\)
6. Click Next, search will find the Driver on the MB Support CD and install it.

I used this method for my Z87 Plus board. And for others who have an Asus MB.
