Today is the first time I have ever tried overclocking. I've read a few guides and watch some videos on youtube but am having trouble so please can somebody help me to overclock my amd phenom II x6 1090t?

My specs are:
CPU Type: HexaCore AMD Phenom II X6 Black Edition 1090T, 3616 MHz (18 x 201)

Motherboard Name: Gigabyte GA-880GA-UD3H v2 (3 PCI, 2 PCI-E x1, 2 PCI-E x16, 4 DDR3 DIMM, Audio, Video, Gigabit LAN, IEEE-1394)

Motherboard Chipset: AMD 880G, AMD K10

System Memory: 12288 MB (DDR3 SDRAM)

DIMM1: Kingston 99U5471-017.A00LF 4 GB DDR3-1066 DDR3 SDRAM (7-7-7-20 @ 533 MHz) (6-6-6-18 @ 457 MHz)

DIMM2: Kingston 99U5471-017.A00LF 4 GB DDR3-1066 DDR3 SDRAM (7-7-7-20 @ 533 MHz) (6-6-6-18 @ 457 MHz)

DIMM3: Crucial CT25664BA1339.M16F 2 GB DDR3-1333 DDR3 SDRAM (8-9-9-22 @ 609 MHz) (7-8-8-20 @ 533 MHz) (6-7-7-17 @ 457 MHz)

DIMM4: Crucial CT25664BA1339.M16F 2 GB DDR3-1333 DDR3 SDRAM (8-9-9-22 @ 609 MHz) (7-8-8-20 @ 533 MHz) (6-7-7-17 @ 457 MHz)
BIOS Type Award Modular (11/24/10)

I'm using the default cooler that came with the CPU.

I've tried changing the ratio and frequency but I either get a blue screen after a few minutes or a message during boot saying there have been boot failures due to overclocking.

Can anybody suggest what settings I should use to get a stable overclock?

I've disabled cool n quite, C1E and turbo core.
