buying a new video card, and i have 2 in mind

i will do mostly gaming along with video downloading

which one do you think i should get?

Sapphire Radeon HD 7970 3GB Video Card

Gigabyte GeForce GTX 770 2GB Video Card

the 770 would be slightly faster at stock speeds. however the 7970 would be slightly cheaper, and when overclocked the two are about even.

While I agree that the 7970 has more and faster memory compared to a 770. for single monitor 1080p gaming, the faster memory doesn't really come into play (yet, wait until next year lol)

I would contradict by saying the HD 7970 1.1Ghz is faster and more money.

nVIDIA drivers are an absolute nightmare right now. For two weeks I couldn't really play any games with my 780 due to massive artifacting in BF 3 and drivers crashing. Thank God I stumbled upon a post on how to make the 314.22 drivers work for my 780. I imagine you would have to edit the .ini file to get it to work for a 770 too. So far I am 3 days in and not a single artifact, crash, application hang, or GPU hang.
