Hi,

I have had my build for some time now, a good few years. just recently i had bought an SSD drive for my main drive and everything was okay.

Turned my PC off last night, nothing wrong, but when turning it on today, for some reason it was booting into my old HDD instead, not my newly inserted SSD that it's been booting into for a good 2 months. I went into the bios to look at the boot priority and removed all but one, the SSD.

Now when I try and turn the computer on, it doesn't post, nothing shows up on the monitor, and when the lights cycle on the mobo the VGA led stays lit.

I have tried removing the CMOS chip, resetting bios through the jumper removing the GPU and connecting the monitor through onbaord VGA cable and nothing shows up on the screen, like the monitor just doesn't see the computer.

I have tried downloading .ROM file and the bupdater for asus through a USB flash drive in FAT32 and the same thing, VGA stays lit and nothing on the monitor, not even notification light.

I have tried to use the MEMOK button and it completed the cycle, but after completion again VGA stays lit and nothing.

Also tried only booting with one MEM stick, again nothing.

I don't have any GPU spare and this mobo is £160, I am wondering if there is something else I can do, missed or has anyone gotten out of this situation, other than buying a new mobo?

Not tried this. But if this is the case how would I get the computer to post and boot up from my hdd. I doubt the ssd has gone though as just before I went into the bios I was able to access my ssd files when I booted onto my hdd before messing around with boot priority.
