Mifi plus home router

Hi

My family currently uses a verizon 3G mifi for a mobile hotspot and home network. Upgrading the mifi is on the short list, and I advised satellite internet, but no go because of my mom's disapproval of a second dish on the roof. We really need a real home network and network storage, but the mifi devices are never sufficient enough for data transfer.

How can I get a separate 802.11ac router to access the internet wirelessly through the cellular modem?

A router acting as a repeater may work(allow more range and whatnot), but a router acting as a bridge will allow you to bring the wireless signal to wired Ethernet.

Another wireless router on this wired network will allow better speeds within the network(simply put wired is better for many things[gigabit], and not having to run all data past the mifi is also a nice touch.). With a wired network running network storage may be a bit more easy as well.

It is not at ideal solution, but it would be

mifi -> bridge to wired(router that supports bridge mode)[Think of this as what a normal modem would give you] -> wired home network -> wireless access point(router). The second router will handle all your devices wired or wireless.

If you do not want the mifi doing the routing(lets say it cost more for more users to connect), you can connect the bridge to the WAN port on the router(wireless access point). If you want the mifi do deal with everything, then you can connect the bridge to one of the lan ports on the second router and disable DHCP.

As an example, this can be used to take the wireless from the mifi and bring it to a wired form, the same device can actually work the other way as well, taking wired and making it wireless again as an access point in the house. These are NOT routers, so the mifi would have to deal with giving out IP addresses, but all systems in the network should be able to talk to this device for all internal traffic.

Will this be a sufficient bridge? http://www.amazon.com/NETGEAR-WNCE2001-Universal-Internet-Adapter/dp/B007CO5DZ4/ref=cm_cr_pr_pb_t

Also, I don't see many controls on the bridge part. How would I tell it to connect to this wifi?

I'm not going to leave the mifi with static IP because then it makes mobile (road trip) connection harder. This will be mostly wireless. Can I run data through the network without passing through the router, or should I teach my parents how to change between static and dynamic on the mifi?

Yes that bridge would work. As long as your internet speed does not exceed 100magabit/sec(12.5 megabytes/sec) it will not hold anything back

You can use wifi protected setup OR connect it to a computer(best way) to configure it.

If you are using the WAN port on a second router, it will obtain an IP from the mifi(right through the bridge) so no static ip will be needed and the router will assign ips to all devices connected to it(wired or wireless).

The goal here is to simply give you a setup that keeps your computer connecting to each other on a home network(wired and wireless from router 2), If you travel and take the mifi with you, the home systems will loose internet but still be able to communicate with one another.
