I have an old C2D E7500 running at 3500 MHz (10.5 x 333) in bios on an Gigabyte G41MT-S2P. Well all the things run really fine, and stable. But some aplications read an wrong speed, some says the FSB is only 266 (stock for the E7500) and others says the multilplier is 11 (also stock for E7500) so my speed reads vary from 2793 to 3663, in diferent apps.
CoreTemp, and CPU-Z reads corectly.
EIST, C1E, and ThermalProtection are disabled on BIOS. I dont know if the problem is on the aplications, or i made a mistake.

Sorry about my english, im an brazilian

If CPU-Z reads right, chances are the other software is just misreading.

If you can, leaving eist and c1e on will lower power consumption at idle. It may be worth looking into leaving them on if the system is still stable.

but if i enable EIST, when i stress my CPU the multiplier jumps to 11 (3663 MHz) wich is stable but generate so much heat, im runnin on air cooler at 3500 full for 1 hour i get 58ºC maximum at 3663 i dont know the reason, but the temps jumps to over 70ºC, Vcore is fixed at 1.310 (1.280 stock) i will try lower this vcore a lil when i have time

Good enough reason.

I notices a similar situation on almost all cpus. At some point the heat just starts to build VERY fast as does the power consumption. I stop just before that happens too.
