I think that this is an accurate depiction for the next generation of consoles:

More about : ps4 xbox

Although I've always been an Xbox fan (had Xbox, and numerous Xbox 360s, before switching to PC gaming), I have to say that Microsoft have made some utterly atrocious decisions with Xbox One. As such, I'd be going for the PS4 - if I was still a console gamer.

PS4, although really PC gaming is the better option, if you can afford it

what guitargod said.

PC will always be better than console. A PC can be upgraded, to comply with higher demands of games - consoles can't.

A console is great - for the first year or two of it's life. After that, it's outdated.

For example, the Xbox 360 was superb for gaming when it was first released in 2005. 8 years down the line, and it can only play the most modern games Far Cry 3, Battlefield 3, Crysis 3 etc) on what would be a PC equivalent of "low" settings.

This is why I will never go back to Console.

Additionally, the PC gamer community is typically more mature than the console community, where games like Call of Duty are riddled with 12 year olds, and Battlefield is rife with people who don't PTFO, which is annoying to say the least.

I see no reason to buy an Xbox One, you must be a die hard fan if to get it. Most good games are coming to both consoles too. But, well... I'm also a PC gamer and I feel no empathy for someone who wants to pay monthly for online gameplay in addition to the internet already paid. I also read that the GPU on the PS4 is a little more capable than the one on the Xbox, so the graphics will definitely be better on the PS4.

Why the hell would anybody pay $100 more for a worse product?!

You'd think it's crazy to pay extra, but some people will do it simply because it's Microsoft.

And additionally, even though the PS4 is set to be more powerful than the Xbox, it's optimisation is yet to be seen. The PS3 was more powerful than the Xbox 360, but they pretty much broke even on performance, because 1) the Xbox was supposedly better optimised, and 2) The PS3 was a nightmare for developers to code for, so it's potential was never fully grasped. This explains why PS3 exclusives typically had superb visuals though - these are the few instances where the PS3's power was properly harnessed.

If the same is true for the Xbox One and PS4, expect them to perform equally.

Also, Xbox One comes with Kinect sensor as standard, which some will see as justifying the higher asking price.

I'd go for the PS4.
Hardware isnt the reason why, I have my gaming PC if I want eye candy, just the PS4's exclusives are more appealing to me than Xbox One's.

That being said, I wont be buying until a price drop, $400 is pretty good for a console, but I dont really need one.

They both have the same AMD "PC" cpu. I think that optimization will be similar.

PS4 all the way lol

Hammer is Xbox, Stark is Ps4.... then i guess Hulk is Pc.

nowdays Conosles basicly are PCs, just limited so its easier to control and people dont have to work on them to get a game going.

i wholeheartedly agree the thing is theres games you cant just get on pc, like about all decent fighting games (3d) like tekken and soulcalibur series thats about the only thing that made me get an xbox360 and the only thing that makes me doubt if i will spend $400 on a next gen just to be able to play those two. Other than that, games like test drive unlimited 2 and dark souls i had for my xbox, i bought for my pc and sold off the xbox dvds once they were available and on sale for pc.
The 2d titles like street fighter and sf vs tekken are available on steam, i have them both, the others sadly not. Im a hudge fan of the series tekken and soul but like $500 just to play those two ???

True..My thing is with consoles for the performance you get which is fully outdated i dont wanna pay 400/500$ for something my pc can already do even tho ill miss a few good games but pc gaming hasnt let me down so far and i feel your getting your moneys worth. And consoles is doing sub hd,1080p 30fps on some games and 720p 60fps on others eh yea im not to fond on that
