Currently I am thinking about upgrading my pc and was thinking about getting the 3 items listed below:

motherboard - http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16813128514

cpu-

ram-

Would these parts go well together? I am new at pc building and confused about the ram timing, latency, and channels so I was wondering if this would go well for this motherboard?

I would stick with 1600 MHz memory, as 1866 doesn't provide much difference, and its cheaper.

My current one is a intel core 2 with 4 gb ddr2 ram and an old motherboard. There a deal for the motherboard and cpu bundle at another place. It was just easier to link from newegg.

I assume the bundle is from Microcenter?
Also, I said you might be over-paying for things because do you really need a 990FX chipset board? The main difference between the 970 and 990fx is that the 990fx has more PCIe 2.0 lanes so it is meant to crossfire/SLI. However, if you don't plan to crossfire/SLI or your psu can't handle it, you can just get the Asus M5A97 R2.0 and have same performance.

As DComander1x has stated, get 1600mhz RAM for $5-10 cheaper.
