I'd suggest starting off with a single GPU first, as that'll be more than likely enough for your 1080p gaming goodness. I would only suggest going into dual GPU territory if you play above 1200p or multi screens. The 770 or 7970 should be more than enough for now.

I would put off CF until AMD fix it with their latency driver fix -- it paces the frames, making it smoother. This should be released this month or next month.

So Imo, buy a single GPU, and if you still feel you need more firepower, get a second one. Simple as that. Go for either a single 7970, and sell the free games, or GeForce it up a little.

I thought about this however with the 780 being 680 bucks and 2 770s being 800 and thus being more powerful the 120 seems well spent. If i go that route

I will be utilizing multiple screens, although my first screen is a little older it is still the same resolution scree. I would like to run multiple screens in the future.

A pair of 770's do have more power than a single 780 for sure, I just always advise against SLI on a new build for a couple reasons, but they should indeed rock. For a single screen now 1 would be just fine if you need to cut a little slack on the funding, then pick up a second when you add a couple more displays.

Might want to think about the 4GB cards for hi res tri-displays, perhaps someone could full you in better than I on that.
