2. What is the size of the notebook that you are considering? 15.6" and larger

3. What screen resolution do you want? 1920x1080

4. Do you need a portable or desktop replacement laptop? Portable

5. How much battery life do you need? 2 Hours Minimum

6. Do you want to play games with your laptop? If so then please list the games that you want to with the settings that you want for these games. (Low,Medium or High)? Yes

World Of Warcraft, Rift, Guild Wars 2 (All preferably on High settings)

7. What other tasks do you want to do with your laptop? (Photo/Video editing, Etc.) I'm gonna be going to school for engineering so I'm assuming a lot of high end computing, etc... will be needed

8. How much storage (Hard Drive capacity) do you need? Prefer 1TB, will settle for 750GB

The only brands I would prefer not to buy from is ACER and APPLE, Just dont like Mac's and had bad experienecs with ACER in the past

This Laptop is primarily for me returning to school for Engineering. I would like for it to have a long life span (I know how tough that can be with laptops, but I gotta try).

Intel i7 with 4600 GPU - everything else (pc parts that is) is just gravy. The games you state I would imagine would run well on this as they are not the top bleeding edge games. Makes: Alienware, HP (for well built business class laptops). I'm sure others could help you out here as I'm not much of a gamer (on pcs that is).

observations... 15" is a bit big to be carrying about all the time. Optical drives makes it heavier to carry. Thats why people who carry laptops around a lot have 13" ultrabooks (or whatever they are called this week!). If your laptop becomes a burden to lug about it may as well be a desktop with a decent graphics card. With your budget you could build a Desktop for gaming and buy a cheap or used laptop for lugging about.
