I've been browsing Newegg, and running through Google for about an hour now. My hunt hasn't gotten me very far. Each piece I see suggested is now obsolete or there's a ton of back and forth if it's worth it... So, too bring forth my specific requirements. I am going to be outside with the need to connect my system into the router which is inside. The router is a Verizon DSL router, which I'll probably dummy to a modem and connect a real router too at some point. Nevertheless, I am in need of a reliable and good ranged adapter. I have the old WNA1100 Netgear adapter and it is crapping on me. It doesn't really reach anyways..
My goals: get the best damn shit I can under $100. I game, I stream, I do a little of everything online.

Moving on I've come to these 2 devices.

The newer and next tier of the type of adapter I have, it's been a decent adapter always worked well, to a point.

Only because I've read it has a better than average range, which may become extremely useful.

Note: I'll be in a trailer for a few months which is completely metal so I can expect this to interfere with the connection..

Edit:
Almost forgot this one...

as it seems to be pretty popular.

I would go with the second one. The key reason is that it has external antenna and it can easily (ie via 15ft USB extention) be placed remote from the computer....outside even if somewhat protected.

You could if you get desperate put direction antenna on the second one.

You may be better off putting in a outdoor AP connected to you main router via a ethernet cable. You would then use whatever you have in your computer now.

ehh 5Ghz probably won't really work too well, with the amount of wall between the router and where it would be. Probably try the second one then.

In all honesty I could probably fish any of these units outside, get long usb cable and run it through a window somewhere, the windows are slanted so they'd protect the device. Only thing with such long cable I'd probably want the device to plugin or be able to plugin to the wall or perhaps some type of booster.

I've put some thought into it, I am curious on a model similar to that Premiertek one but that will plug into a wall as well. So, to not rely on usb powering. I notice often if I have a lot connected it reduces the signal on these devices or a USB power boost hub/dock might work?
