I'm looking to replace all 4 sticks of ram.

I want to replace them with 4 sticks of 4 GB ea. i have no idea how to shop ram.

TL;DR

Can you guys help me find 4 sticks of ram, 4 GB each that works for my motherboard that is cost effective? (not cheap, just getting more for my money).

Thanks! i really appreciate it.

I assume you have Dell Studio XPS 7100. According to the original DELL spec's the speed is limited upto 1333MHz but I think 1600MHz should do fine(I cannot say for sure but yeah it should work, maybe).

If you are looking for cheaper value ram with no heat spreaders then try this site or Kingston.

Good luck!!

P.S - Make sure you have 64Bit Operating system (OS).

According to Crucial, i can only support 4GB sticks. However, it says i can support DDR3-1600s, while others say that i can only support 1333. Should i go around and start shopping for 1600s even though others say that i can only support 1333?

It's prob got a locked BIOS, so you could try 1600 sticks, and if it doesn't support then it should just boot them up at the mobo default of 1333 and you would normally be fine. If looking at 1600, to be on the safe sid don't spend extra for low CL/high performance sticks look for a base 1600 set with timings of around 9-9-9-27 and voltage at 1.5
