I am running a homemade rig, i7 920 1st gen, 6 GB Ram, 2 GTX 465 in SLi mode.
3 Acer 23.5" 3D monitors. 2 1TB WD Green HDD, 2 Velociraptor 300 GD in a raid 0 configuration, all powered by a Corsair 850w psu. Is it possible that I am underpowered when I am in surround and playing games in 5760 x 1080.
nope. if your not seeing the performance you would like its probably due to your gpus
it's not so much performance. During Civ 5, play is very choppy and hard to play mouse is slow to respond , but if that's that video cards then I will have to live with it cause I can't afford to change them. Oh well.
I looked into the specs of my GPU's and the rest of the components on my rig, and I determined that I am about 125w shy of what I need to power my rig. So now I am looking for a PSU. I has been determined that I need 927w. so I am looking at 1050w and up PSUs. I do not plan to add anything else to me rig and I want to be sure that my PSU, as it ages will be able to handle the load my computer uses. Should I go to a 1200w or would 1050w work?
