I'm building a gaming compute. Is the Intel Processor i5-760 good for modern games such as Planetside 2, Teamfortress 2, battlefield, etc?! Please answer! Thanks :)

Solution
Newegg says the i5-760 is discontinued. Are you planning on getting it from amazon or something? But, since I have no knowledge of that CPU (other than just looking at the specs) I would have to defer to others here.

My new machine is running on the i5-3570k and I have to say that I'm VERY happy with it's performance (in game and out) thus far. From what I found when researching CPU's it seems that the i5-3570k is the favorite among many gamers for their machines, and considering the power you get for the price (around $219), I can't blame them.

So I would recommend the i5-3570k for a new gaming machine.

I completly agree with this. Also, if you have a Micro Center near you a 3570k only cost me $169.

I can absolutely agree that the 3570k is a very good cpu for gaming. The only reason i say the new one its the same( sorry 30 dollars more) price at the stl micro center and its more powerful. No reason not to buy the newest when the cost is around the same.

Do you already have a graphics card?
If you don't, try the AMD A10-5800.
It is an APU so it has a CPU and a GPU in one. It is very powerful and can run the games you have listed.
Hope this helped!

I agree with you.Better buy the A10 6800k.It is an improved version and you will lag less in heavy games like battlefield

It's depending on your budget. An i5 3570k is pretty good for the games your asking. Just apply a good graphics card to it and you should be golden. (You can always upgrade and add more on the future, keep that in mind). But when choosing a processor, make sure that your CPU and Motherboard are compatible! I've seen others buy Motherboards and then their CPU can't run on that motherboard. Hopefully my tips helped you in your quest for epic gaming
