Im reading ALOT ALOT ALOT of bad reviews of this OP on various sites..... usualy the 1 star reviews are double the size of the 5 star ones. Is this system realy that bad? should i just buy windows 7 for my new pc or get windows 8 instead?
It's not that bad, but I prefer to use the start bar, so on my laptop I added one using Start Menu 8. The main thing that your loosing is the ability to play DVDs with Media Player. Otherwise, day to day, it's not noticeably different.

You can either buy upgrading to pro and then adding media center for $10 or you have to download a third party dvd player like VLC, but I've never had good luck with that with more complicated codecs such as Disney movies like the Avengers. If you're looking at the home edition and want to play dvd's, definitely go Windows 7.
