When I try to put my monitor into normal format 1280x1024 is out of range.

This has happen to me before and I had to restore but this time my computer caught a error of something and I had to put the Windows Xp Cd and reinstall windows so it had to do a full new instaillion and won't let me restore to a earlier date to fix this . I did that and my monitor messed up and says out of range when I tired to put to it's original setting format. Someone please help me

I tried this but i don't know if it would work because it either to small or way to big and this messes up everything for me it makes my computer way slower
 
What make/model is the monitor? Did it come with an .inf file or a driver? If the device manager just shows "generic pnp monitor", it most likely needs some type of driver or .inf file installed. You should be able to download it from the monitor manufacturer's web site or if this came as part of a system (dell, acer, ...) then you may be able to download from the system manufacturer's web site.

My monitor is a flatron LG L1752TQ and it doesn't show my monitor in device manger
