Stock cooler crapped out; time for a new cooler

Hey y'all.

My stock AMD cooler has decided to become super noisy. It's as if the thing is on it's last legs, so I'm ready to change the cooler.

I looked at the Hyper 212 Evo, but it wouldn't fit in my case; The distance between the motherboard tray and the side panel is 17cm. Factoring in the 1.5cm used by the motherboard and other such components, that leaves me with 15.5cm. The Hyper 212 Evo needs a tad more than that.

My case is the Galaxy 3. Novatech seems to have one in stock that you can look at for specs.

I also have a side-fan that looks like it would conflict with the large heatsink on the Evo.

So I did some looking, and found this.

Would that be any improvement over the stock cooler? Or would it perform the same? Overclocking isn't on the cards yet, but it'd be nice to bump up my 965 BE (currently @ 3.4GHz stock) when I need that extra oomph.

Thanks in advance.

Edit: I forgot to mention; my RAM sticks have heatsinks on them. The RAM sticks, including the heatsinks, are 3.6cm in height. Would that conflict with any coolers?

Cooler Master should be fine!

Noctua NH-C14 is a really good fan that i would suggest. A little pricey but if you're looking for a long term cooler, this will last at least 5 years no problem.

It's low profile and has lots of room. plus fan flexibility, my personal favorite low profile cooler. If you ever want to overclock, you'll have amazing capability with this guy. Plus some of the best fans money can buy.

I forgot to mention; my budget is £30 tops. That cooler you recommended is £60. There would not be much point in spending that much just for my measly 965 BE.

And when you say "Cooler Master is fine", what do you mean by that? That the TX3 Evo would be suitable enough and wouldn't interfere with my RAM's heatsink? Or that the Hyper 212 Evo will fit despite the conflicting dimensions?

TX3 Evo completely fits fine. Since you're not doing anything insance on the computer, that fan will work perfectly fine and keep the temperature down at least 5'C.

I do not see the specs on the width on this case, If it will fit the cm hyper 212 get that for sure as there is a little more room to overclock the 965.

The CM 212 evo will gain you extra headroom for overclocking that make it worth the extra 7 bucks as listed on your website. The 965 is an oc chip and pushing it as far as it will go can be done with a cooler master hyper 212,
