As I was building my computer and we tried to test turn it on (The psu was at a crooked angle, is that a problem?) and everything spun up for a second and the blue lights came on. Then, I think the mobo cut off power to everything to protect it, but a split second later the power button area started smoking. Is it a case problem and will all my other parts be fine?

Thank you

O and also my psu is cx600m and my case is rosewill blckhawk(non ultra)

Something was plugged into the wrong connector.

I'm hesitant to tell you to push that power switch again, or even plugging it in. Even after rechecking everything.

At the very least, the power switch may be toasted/melted/shorted. Just plugging it in may kill something else.

No, everything was plugged in corrrectly, I even had a friend check it over. Also, but if everything was cut off before any damage was done, how would the psu switch be melted?

Smoke is not normal ops. Something got hot enough to smoke, and therefore may be melted or otherwise damaged.

The power switch is just a momentary on/off switch. Personally, I'd look closely and think about fixing it. But that's just me.

But I would not plug that thing in again until I knew the switch, and whatever actually caused the problem, was 100% fixed. It could have been a bad switch, or some incorrect connection, or something else entirely.

Inspect it closely, preferable with a multimeter.
