Hi There,

I don’t know if you can help but I am having system stability problems with my home built computer.

I bought the Asus MB P6X58D-E in 2011 and built a computers and the specs are below:

Asus MB P6X58D-E
Intel i7 Extreme edition 3.46ghz processor
Cooler master 750W PSU
12 GB crucial 1333mhz 10600 (4gb x 3 sticks)
NVIDIA Quadro 2000
750GB WD HDD
Cooler master V8 cpu heatsink fan
Cooler master case HAF932

My system has been running fine since I built it in 2011 but just a month back, it has been acting funny. It shuts down like power cut and a couple seconds later reboots.
I tried and diagnosed all parts and it seems there no problem with most of the parts:

- Disconnected the HDD and checked what happens, after a while, it happens again - black out and restarts
- Removed all RAM sticks and tried another single stick - same results
- Checked the cpu heatsink fan by fixing another fan on the cpu and reapplying the heatsink gel, same results,
- updated bios to 0701 version, problem still exists
- Removed GPU out and switched on the PC, after a while, goes off again,
- Gave my computer to a technician, and he says the MoBo is faulty.

What I don’t understand it, I did not change anything, nor installed any new hardware.. It was just another normal day when I powered on the PC, after about 30 minutes, BOOM, power out and restart again.

I would really like to know what would be the problem?

Appreciate any help from you

That's usually a sign of one of three things.

Overheating
Failing power supply
Failing ram or incorrect ram settings

You never mentioned what the temps are when it shuts down. Have you done any memory testing?

Hi all,

I have checked the ram, aand its not the culprit.

The temps are perfectly ok.
Cpu approx 34 c and MoBo approx 35 max.

Power readings:
cpu ~ 1.16v
3.3v ~ 3.296v.
5v ~ 5.14v
12v ~ 12.14v

I upgraded the bios 0701. Just to make sure the old version is not causing this and cleared the Cmos too. But no solution to the problem yet. Any suggestion??
