Hey guys, so for my first build i decided on the followings:

Fractal design define r4
6x be quiet! silentwings 2 140mm
be quiet! dark rock pro 2

these are the coolers, which brings me back to the question of how do i orient them?

i will replace the case fans with the be quiet ones, so thats 2 in the front as intake and then one for the side pannel which i don't know how to put it. draw air in or out? ok then for the back im putting it as exhaust, and 2 on the top which i need ur guys help to know how to position them.

For the cooler, which way do i orient it because if i face it thowards the ram then i would need a low profile ram, which i might consider if u guys help me with this config.

Thanks

Ok well you want to have the side panel fan as an intake and the front fans as intake. the back and top should be exhaust.
if you can not reposition ram so that your cooler fits then placing it on the other side of the heat-sink is no problem.

Thank you for the responce PASHINATOR, i think that is a perfect positioning. I have not yet got any of the components this is a pre planing so i have a better idea of what i am doing. So would it make any difference the way i place the heat sink? because if it does by alote then i might concider getting a low prfile vengeance memory. But, with the cooler facing the rear exhaust will it interfere with a normal vengeance kit?

In genera l.... front and side panel in.....top and back out

Amnd why would you even think about anything other than low profile RAM ? DDR2 benefited from the tall toothy heat sinks as they ran hot. DDR3 doesn't run hot so these things nowadays are jut to "look cool"

Hmm i didn't quite get that JackNaylorPE. i will be getting a ddr3 1600mhz kit but my worry is that if i position the be quiet! dark rock 2 pro thowards the ram, will it interfere or something? or should i just face the fan on the cooler which is stiking out thowards the back fan?

JackNaylorPE is right, low profile is the way to go, i was unaware that you hadn't purchased the parts already.
I have kingston hyperx ram and it works and looks great.
Do you plan on a high end graphics card? as the intake on the side panel will help with gpu temps.

You may not be able to position fan with the ram in place because the cooler may not have been designed with massive ram heights. pick something that is around the same height as the actual ram inside it. nothing with massive spikes on it.

Yes i will have a gtx 780 so that fan on the side is good for cooling it, the weired thing is that my question splited up into 2 links and now i have many people answering my question. So what u are saying PASHINATOR is that i should install the cooler facing the ram but put the ram in place after installing the cooler, and i should go with low profile ram? i was thiking maybe of a corsair vengeance low profile 16gb 2x8 1600mhz
