Hexa-core and Octa-core.
Prefixes like in chemistry, they have different origins, sometimes Greek, sometimes Latin.
Octopus, as you can deduce from its name has 8 arms
1000MHz = 1GHz
Again you have standard prefixes here:
K - kilo 10^3
M - mega 10^6
G - giga 10^9
etc

Hex = six, so Hexacore.
Octa = 8, so Octacore.
Though in more colloquial speech any chip with core count above four is just referred to as an "X Core"
