I need help deciding what to do with my upcoming hardware purchase. My budget is 600 dollars and I might be able to go a little over. I was planning on getting the saber tooth 990fx motherboard along with the fx 8350 and another 6870 to crossfire. Currently I have a stock motherboard that needs an upgrade, cant remember the name of it, with an amd 785g chipset and a Athlon II x4 645. I was wondering if getting the new processor, motherboard, and 6870 to crossfire was worth it, or to just get a new gtx 680. Please help.

By the way, I have 14 gb of ram and a 750 or 800 or 850w power supply, so I shouldn't need a new one. And I will need to get a new motherboard sooner or later to crossfire since my old one only has one slot.

Don't get a 680 right now. You can get a gtx 770 for $400, which is basically a suped up 680, so it is a much better deal.

Thanks for the advice, but would I be able to use the 770 with my current motherboard and processor combo?

You would definitely bottleneck, so it would be better for you to upgrade your cpu/mobo and worry about the gpu later.

So you're saying it would be better to get the sabertooth 990fx and the fx 8350 along with the 6870 to crossfire?
