AMD Radeon - 5750 & 7850 same price?!

HI, new to this forum so go easy!
Basically I have a 3/4 year old PC and was thinking about upgrading the graphics card - looked at the AMD Radeon 7850

Just before buying on amazon I noticed my current ATI Radeon 5750 is going for basically the same price??

What is the difference and is it worth "upgrading?".

it is worth upgrading to if thats what you want hear. the 5750 is 2 generations old not to mention that the 7850 sports the newer architecture and is inherently a lot faster; like a whole lot faster.

the performance difference is actually huge despite the similar price.
Compare these too charts, the first one is older and has the 5750 still in it, the second one is quite recent with the 7850 in it (it lacks the 5750 but there are for example 6670 in both charts so you can estimate the perf difference between the 5750 and 7850)
edit better to use the 560ti as the ref card, it matches the 7850 pretty much and is in both charts, so 7850 is over 2 times faster than a 5750
edit2 quite interestingly one can also see the effect that driver updates have had on the performance between the 2 companys over this time period, (also the games used the reviews have changed) so if a different ref card is used you get slightly different performance estimate as a result because the ref cards performance has changed between the reviews...
