Gaming pc for a friend. Is it balanced?

Solution
Don't need 16gb of RAM. 8gb is perfectly sufficient. An extra 8gb is just a waste of money on a PC like that.

An SSD is also an odd choice. Surely it would be better to forgo the SSD in favour of a more powerful GPU or CPU?

Also, that PSU is not powerful enough. You need at least 600W to allow for futureproofing. A Corsair TX 650 would be a good choice. If you don't want/need to futureproof, then 450W would probably be fine. But hopefully you'll undertake my suggestions as follows, which will require more than 450W...

If you halved the RAM to 8gb, and got rid of the SSD, you could get a 3570 instead of a 3350p, which I (and probably most, if not all, of the forum members) would suggest - even if you're not planning on overclocking...

You may also be able to upgrade the GPU with the money saved from cutting the SSD and RAM.

EDIT: Also, why would your friend be using VMs? Either way, 8gb would be sufficient, even when using VMs.

EDIT 2: The words "SSD" and "Budget" should never be used in the same sentence. Unless you say "I'm on a budget, therefore I shall not be getting an SSD" :p

Not necessarily. It depends on what he is doing with those VM's. I routinely have 11GB absorbed. Host, and 3 VM's.
If just one at a time, then yes...8GB would be enough.

Thanks for your replies, but the SSD is gonna stay because well, the loading times and booting and response is just great and he specifically wants SSD. Ram also stays cause he will run more than one vm's (bot farming). Does 3570 and gtx 660 ti offer a big difference?

Meaning he's going to use it for games to farm gold/experience where multiple instances of a game refuse to launch when in the same environment

Here it states that 3570 really shows its teeth when it comes to overclocking but there isn't going to be any with this stock cooler or this psu. And a better cooler+better psu+3570 is going to cost ~100 euros more.
