BSOD "Attempt to reset display drivers..."

System Information
OS 1: Win7 64bit on SSD (main)
OS 2: Win7 64bit on HHD
Motherboard: Asus M4N98TD EVO
CPU: AMD Phenom II x6 1090T 3.2 GHz
GPU: nVidia GTX470 x2 SLI
RAM: 8GB

I have had my computer in its current state for a few months with all working fine. Randomly after leaving the PC running for around 30 mins while I was out of the room I came back to find it had restarted and was asking which OS to boot. When I selected my main OS (win7 64bit) I got BSoD. I booted into safe mode which worked fine and tried system restore, I still got BSoD. I uninsulated the display drivers and then it boot into the OS fine but low resolution. So I booted into my secondary OS it worked fine for an hour or so then BSoD and now I can't boot into this without safe mode or no drivers installed. So I tried taking out the graphics card which ran my monitor and only used the other card. This worked for about 20 mins then BSoD, same problem as before. Next I reinstalled windows, after installing the drivers this worked again for about 20 mins then crashed. Finally I installed a different graphics card nVidia 9500GT, the same problem occurred with this works fine in safe mode or with no drivers installed then dies as soon as the drivers are added.

I have tried all 3 graphics cards in both PCI-e 16 slots and all work until the drivers are installed. I have also tried different versions of the graphics drivers. I have to conclude that the motherboard has malfunctioned and would love advice on pinpointing the problem. I doubt that this can be fixed easily but I am reluctant to replace parts until I am sure where the problem is.

May not be the mb but a 12v line issue on the power supply. Download hardware monitor and watch your power supply outputs.

It sounds to me like the Windows 7 installations might be corrupted. Have you tried reinstalling the OS?

Having Windows 7 twice on the same machine is not something I would personally advise as when hardware tries to update the drivers, it could potentially take the existing drivers from the other Windows installation and if they are corrupted then you are just going to end up going round in circles.

The only other thing I would suggest you try before a fresh O/S install is to scrub the drivers from both installations using a program like Driver Sweeper, then reinstall the drivers.
