I upgraded hd to 500 wd hd. old drive was going out. I had to use erecovery on old hard drive before it would let me clone it. I used Acronis wd edition. now my user settings are on the old hd in a folder at c:\Backup. I can look at them but that's about it. I have tried to recover with windows7 and tried Recuva. still no luck. Any Help? Also did a backup and a system image on another hd before I started all this.

If you "cloned" the hard-drive, it should be identical to the old one, including your user settings. What exactly happens when you try to copy the files? If you have a backup on another drive, why not use that drive? What user settings are you trying to get to?
