My laptop sufurred from water damage, which at first didn't even turn on. I managed to get it working by opening the back panel and drying the components with a hair dryer.
When I tried to play a game on it, or even a 1080p youtube video, I noticed the performance had decayed A LOT and I can't say why.
I runned 3dmark06 and scored 3551. (and before I was getting 8850 without overclocking) all of the scores (SM2.0; SM3.0; CPU) went down but the CPU was the most affected.
I ran Task Manager to check it out and found nothing disturbing:
The RAM was fully functional, The CPU usage was normal during indle, I checked the disk with CHKDSK and found no error.
But I noticed one thing out of the patterns, my iddle temps(AV off). I mesuared it with SpeedFan and HWMonitor. The results are:

Is this related to Hardware failure?(considering I haven't changeg nothing on the software) If it is, what can it be?
My System specs:

Laptop model: Samsung RF511
Windows 7 x64
GT540M
8GB RAM
Intel Core I7-2670QM

PS: All drivers up to date and I can hear the fan working

maybe your termal paste got washed away and now your CPU is throtling down because of high temps,

so if I apply this thermal paste to my CPU, would it make a big difference? Because TM shows that, while ingame, my cpu usage goes up to 70% - 90%

cooling fans turning? The bearings may have frozen up on the cpu fan (supposed to be sealed, but you never know).

Thermal paste or fans. Got a be one or the other.

It looks like its overheating. For no load 78c is very hot even for a laptop. My laptop idles around 45c.
