So everytime i try to boot my system on my z77 ASROCK motherboard, by pressing F11, and after choosing the "dvd" with the windows 7 disk.
it shows me a blaack screen with a _ on the left top side.

is there something wrong that i am doing?, did i mess up any pieces?

EDIT: Also whenever i use "HDMI" for my display cable, my fan will sound VERY LOUDLY, but if i use VGA it will not make such loud sounds

is there any reason as to why that happens?

Solution
Did you create the disc your self?

Can your BIOS detect the "dvd" drive?

Try seeing if the boot disc can boot on another system and make sure you disc drive can read the exact format of your Win 7 DVD.

As for the fan that is strange. The fan shouldn't have any relation as to which display cable you use.

I wouldn't even want to say it is bad hardware because that is a weird symptom in my eyes. But perhaps it is..
