Hello this is Joel!

I was wonderig if somebody could check the "foundations" of my casual gamer build. I'm still missing the GPU therefore i've left open the PSU choice too. I've been using the UK version of pcpartpicker and here's a link to my build: http://uk.pcpartpicker.com/p/16WRr

I've gone for a budget MB as it supports USB 3.0 and SATAIII for the HDD and possible SDD intergration a little later down the road. All i should need is a 1 PCIe 3 for the GPU ad the other PCIe 2 can be left unused for now.

I was looking at a GTX 560 Ti graphics card because of its performance/cost factor. Also considering the Radeon 7850. May even make do without a GPU, but i'd want to upgrade later, therefore an adeqate PSU is needed.

The http://extreme.outervision.com/PSUEngine suggests i currently need 187 (+7W difference between 3570 and 4670) (therefore 300W).

Budget with GPU included 500 pounds
Budget without GPU 350-400 pounds

Any other suggestions are very welcome.

Thanks to anyone that has the time to help me out.

Get a z77 motherboard.

Get a 500-600w PSU from Antec, XFX, Corsair, Seasonic.

Get the best GPU you can afford.

? Z77 is not compatible with the 1150 socket..

He isn't getting an ocable CPU anyways, so he doesn't need an overclockable board.

Thanks can you offer any advice on GPUs? Also isn't 500-600W over the top for this build?

Depends on what GPU you get. What is your budget for a GPU?

100 quid realy but can squeeze a little extra if it's worthwhile

I would change your whole build to make more money for the GPU. An you will need a 500w PSU for something like a 7850 to be safe. Not 300w.

What CPU do you suggest? Most of the CPU are similarly priced so i though i'd go for the best i5 which wasn't ocable

On your budget, I would get an AMD fx-6350 and an am3+ motherboard. This will give you more money to get a better GPU.

Had a rethink after checking your build and was wondering what you thought of this build? I chose a AMD FX-8320 choosing to pay £20 more. Was going to pick up a second hand 560 Ti for around £85 to keep the cost down. What do you think? Also is the ASRock 970 Extreme3 better than a MSI 970A-G43?

Here the link: http://uk.pcpartpicker.com/p/17j6Y

Total cost including PSU would be ~400 pounds

I would go with the ASRock board and and the fx6350. The 560ti is an ok card but it is old and will not compete with the hd 7870XT at all.
