Tf300t Power adapter broken?

Hello,

I recently sent in my tablet to Asus for reparation and they changed the whole motherboard. Now, when I plug in my power adapter to charge the tablet, the adapter makes a weird sound, like a computer fan but more quietly.

The adapter is the standard one that came with the tablet. It gets warm when charging but it doesn't get very hot. There isn't a smell coming out from the adapter: you can only smell a weird smell when you put your nose close to the adapter.

Does anyone know what to do?

Thank you in advance.

  1. So the AC Adapter is making the sound? Do you notice it getting any warmer than it did before? I think the adapter is defective. There really shouldn't be a noise OR a smell coming from it. I would see if you can get another one to use for the time-being. You'd want to be careful or it might damage the tablet.

Hi, is it safe to buy a new adapter if it has the same voltage etc.? Or can I get a new one from Asus directly?

About the adapter: you can only smell something when you put your nose close to it. The noise it makes is kind of like a fan or something but much more quiet.

You can get a universal adapter as long as the power specs are the same or if it's advertised to work with our Transformer tablets. The charger is covered under warranty, but to get a new one replaced, you would have to contact customer support to get an RMA created.
