as you know i got a Dell Vostro 200 (mini tower) 4GB of Ram,E2200 2.2Ghz Core 2 Duo,Windows 7 64Bit,Foxcon motherboard G33M02 (Socket Size 775LGA) (locked bios unfortunately).

Now i don't want to buy a new computer i just bought this one on 5/24/2013 for $100 Cash. (it is a Major Upgrade from the Pentium 4 Desktop i was using) I don't want to buy a new computer and spend a fortune you know and for my daily tasks (It would be nice to have the most powerful i7K Overclocked) but it is not necessary even though MY DAILY TASKS are Video Editing,Photoshop,Downloading Large files 500MB or more,Uploading youtube videos etc. (a New MB,Ram and Processor like an i7K would be too much to spend right now) So i got my eye on the (E8600 Core 2 Duo 3.33Ghz) I found a Refurbished one in a shop for less than $100 I am wondering if i get it

Would i need to get a Better Fan and Cooling Compound like Artic 7??????????
(The Current fan is the stock one) that i am assuming came with the Vostro 200
Mini Tower from the Factory i don't even know how computer cooling fans are rated is it by CFM,SIZE,RPM What i would like to know???????

The E8600 is Socket LGA775 so could i just drop this in Vostro 200 G33M02 MB without any problems 100% Compatible if the socket size is correct right????????

i notice this processor Operating Frequency is (3.33Ghz and FSB of 1333Mhz) I mean this Computer is Pretty Fast as it is now But would i notice a Major Increase with the (E8600 Core 2 Duo)?????????

(i already bought and installed the Maximum Memory of DDR2 4GB 800Mhz 2 weeks ago it cost me $80).

What is the Deal with the (E8700) I cannot find it anywhere does it even exist or just a bunch of rumors???????

The Bottom line is for less than $100 i can get a Wicked chip rather than buying a current year i7 Machine. for a lot more $$$$$$

Thanks i am greatful peeps

Thanks, that makes much more sense. An E8600 would be 50% faster than your E2200 so you will definitely notice the change. It would work 100% compatible and you don't need a new cooler. The new processor should come with one boxed but even if it doesn't, you can use yours.

EDIT: However you should update your BIOS to make sure it will work
