How To Eliminate Repeating Fork Bomb

My dad has seemingly been experiencing a fork bomb that repeats across 3 computers on his home network. He has taken his main desktop/all-in-one to the Geek Squad at Best Buy, and they have formatted his drive and reinstalled Windows 8 at least once, but then he gets the fork bomb again. There is not a lot of information out there about fork bombs other than hacker sites which tell you how to build them. Anyone have any ideas? Could this be something in his router that hackers have figured out how to bypass? Just looking for general advice if anyone has any suggestions. Thanks!

First off have your dad disconnect all the pc from the network and backup media. Most times the virus is on one of the pc and in the shared folder. When the new or clean pc logs into the network it gets infected again. I would use a few rescue cd from nortons and other anti virus company and boot from the cd and scan every pc and backup drive. I would also put a software based firewall on the pcs and report what aps are trying to use the web. A lot of free software is not really free..a lot of it drops crap into your system. There may be a not so friendly tool bar or software on one or all of the pc.
