Hello everyone! I'm trying to build myself a nice computer. I had one picked out on cyberpowerpc, but my friend informed me I could get what I need for much less. My question is, could you guys put together a pc for me? I need enough to run everything smoothly, and I intend on using this pc for playing Team Fortress 2, and Minecraft at high quality, and recording with FRAPS at high FPS. I also would like to have something that will give me enough memory for storing high quality recordings. It would also be nice if I could have enough power to download and upload things quickly, along with being able to play any other games I'd want to play in the future. Summary: Please put together a pc I can play games with on the highest settings, and record with high FPS. My budget is $1,000. Anything below that, obviously, would be great. Anything above it, as long as it's not above 1,500, is not welcome, but is workable.

Overclocking would be nice.
Don't need a monitor, nor a mouse. I do need an OS, planning to buy a gaming keyboard with any money left over.
I live in Texas.

Probably some useful information: All I know is overclocking increases the performance of your PC for a short time? Explain some more please.

Thank you guys so much for the replies, my original pick was 1450, and was a TOTAL overshot compared to these. Thanks so much. A few questions, will these fit my needs?

The two I chose will run those games at around 60 FPS on high just fine, though you can go through them and find parts you like better.

OK, ya have the low end, here's the one for $1500 .... designed for expandability, adding 2nd GFX card in future.

bah....I see coupon expired on case but they run that special every other week or so

@JackNaylorPE: I've seen you post nearly the exact same build multiple times. May I ask why? Lots of the things listed are overpriced, such as the dvd writer (easily found for ~$15-17), HDD (1tb HDD is like $60 for blue $90-100 for Black), SSD (You can find a good quality SSD for $120-120), expensive motherboard.

@OP: If you're only planning to play TF2 and minecraft maxed out while streaming, you don't need to waste over $1k.

-Overclockable.
-Has the option to crossfire in the future.
-Hopefully 1tb is enough for all your files.
-Able to run TF2 and minecraft like a breeze. Honestly, this card may be overkill for those games but perhaps you'll like to try something else in the future?

Why is the intel i5 3.4 ghz quad core more than a AMD FX 3.5 ghz six core?

Fraps is very heavy, and might have a FPS limit of 30, so either 30 or 40 with fraps, depending on any artificial limits added by the software.
Without fraps, 60 FPS or so.

I currently have an Asus laptop, four cores, 2.0 ghz, and runs tf2 at normally well over 300 fps, and recording stays at sixty. Now while you may be thinking I'm exaggerating, I'm not (I have screenshots with a netgraph in it). Are you telling me this new desktop, with twice the specs, will run at sixty FPS? Quite frankly, this makes no sense.

That was just a guess, there are many configurations out there.
Regardless, my $700 configurations should do really well in anything.

Lol, not tryint to be rude. This is my current laptop: https://www.asus.com/ROG_ROG/G74SX/#specifications . I'm looking for a direct upgrade. This is what I'm thinking of getting, based off of some of your systems: http://pcpartpicker.com/user/SpydexThePhantom/saved/1MJB . Will this do more than enough for me? Will it beat my current laptop? I have plenty of space for games in the 2 TB hard drive, along with an extra 1TB hard drive for my videos. (I can't use the same hard drive, not sure why, but the more memory taken up in the hard drive FRAPS stores it's videos in, the worse my FPS gets when I go to record.) Feedback Please! :D

Ah, understandable, and it will, Desktops always beat laptops in gaming & storage, otherwise, laptops have the upper hand when it comes to portability, and being able to run during a power outage, lol.
I suggest getting a SSD if you can afford it, it makes the computer load 5x faster then normally.

Thank you so much for your help, but I have a few questions. What's a soundcard and do i need one? What's an SSD? The wireless wifi adapter thing I picked out, does it connect to wifi? That's why I got it. Will this Graphics card work? Is there a better one in my price range?

1.Soundcards are built in to the motherboard, so no need to buy one, and they make the sound that you hear though the speakers.
2. SSD = Solid State Disk - Memory based hard drive, basically a larger USB thumb drive, but for the desktop, and are much faster then regular hard drives.
3. It will, no issues.

What about the Graphics card? Is it the best in my price range? is it good? i want your opinion. :p

1.The graphics card is more then fast enough, it will run in excess of 400 Fps, as its nearly the best card from AMD.
2. If you want, you can swap that AMD card for an Nvidia GTX 670 or GTX 770, as they are both as fast, or a bit quicker.

Its personal preference between AMD & Nvidia at this price point.

I've always used Nvidia, never used AMD, so we'll have to count the personal preference out. I'll look into the two Nvidias, the only reason I currently have the AMD selected, is because I've read some good stuff about it's cooling, and apparently it can overclock, (don't know much about that.)

Alright, and overclocking is when you need to push the card even harder to play newer & heavier games like battlefield 4, and GTA 5. Right now you are fine. Also, Nvidias can Overclock quite well, if not better, then AMDs.
I reccomend going EVGA for the Nvidia cards, they are a very good company, and support gamers quite well, especially team fortress 2 players.
