these are the parts i have picked out for my first build. i am going to use it to play league of legends and world of warcraft hopefully at full graphics and without suffering from FPS problems or anything. Is an SSD drive neccesary and if so what is the smallest i can get by with because i am trying to save money and keep this a fairly low budget PC. If an SSD wouldnt affect performance then i would rather just get a HDD because it is cheaper. Let me know please this is my first time. Thanks!

Looks pretty good.

And no, an SSD isn't necessary.

Typically, an SSD is used to accompany a primary HDD. The SSD is usually used to store the operating system and other applications, whereas the HDD is usually used to store everything else (music, games, photos, general data etc).

Either way, an SSD is completely optional. It allows for quicker boot-up when starting the PC (as long as it holds the operating system) because it can read data quicker than a HDD. Programs installed on it will also load quicker.

I believe that a 64gb SSD has sufficient space to store Windows as an Operating System, with some space left over for other programs (you may want to install Microsoft Office, web browsers, Adobe CS software etc to the SSD to benefit from quicker loading).

And the size of the HDD is subjective. Mine is 1.5tb, but I think that 1tb is enough for everyone in this day and age.

500gb is not enough, however.

About a 60gb SSD would be advisable for a boot drive. and HDD is up to you, how much space do you need?

Personally my family PC has a 230gb HDD and its half empty, although its too slow for games. I cant imagine ever filling a full 1tb. My Gaming PC in developement will only have 750gb.

As for suggestions. Are you going to be overclocking your PC? because if not you dont need the CPU cooler or additional paste. A CPU comes with a stock cooler and paste already.

Also, if you see yourself giving up that case for a cheaper one. Say, 20-30 dollars. combined with the saving on the cooler, Upgrade the GPU to a 660. Worth it over the 650 ti (almost double the fps). It should be enough to max out LOL and WOW on a 1080res display.

You should consider buying your CPU and motherboard via a Microcenter bundle. That CPU and motherboard is $170 plus tax at microcenter (I think you have to pick it up, not sure). IT's not on there website, but I was in the store yesterday and that motherboard was available in the x87 chip set for haswell...probably there for 3rd gen i3. Or, you could get a different motherboard that fit there combos.

here's the info - http://www.microcenter.com/site/brands/intel-processor-bundles.aspx
