Is my router dying?

I'm about six feet away from the router.

While hardwired and skipping the router I'm getting like 20mbps downstream and 5mbps upstream.

While hardwired but using the router I'm getting similar numbers.

Wireless, I'm only getting 1-3mbps down and 1mpbs upstream.

Solution
Try changing the channel. The non-overlapping wireless channels are 1, 6 and 11. 6 is usually the default, so try both 1 and 11. It is more likely that there is some interference than something wrong with your router. Maybe a neighbor got a new wireless router that is drowning your signal out.
