I just purchased this adapter and it will see the wireless networks but it wont connect. Iv done everything. My internal adapter works and connects fine. Iv disabled the internal one before installing the belkin. Fully updated drivers blah blah blah. Im probably going to take it back. But...Any recommendations on a better wireless usb adapter? I need one with hella range. I seen the netgear n900 and the ac(a6200). Does the a6200 have good range and performance? I don't care what the price is really I just need something that works and has the best range. any suggestions would be greatly appreciated.

lol. Im using my internal Realtek RTL8187B card with backtrack 5. I use it for...well.....you know. But its range isn't the greatest being why I bought this piece of crap belkin. Id like to go with either Linksys, cisco,or netgear being as I live right near a walmart and best buy. I don't want to order online being as im on a public network.

if I could get this belkin to connect then it would work fine, has good range. just cant figure out why in the hell it wont connect. holy cow that gamebase antenna looks massive. kinda looking for something a little more "mobile". ill keep that one in mind tho cuz the range looks real nice.

First, unzip your driver to an easily accessible folder, (for example, C:\Drivers).

Then try unplugging the device, uninstalling the drivers, rebooting, then plugging the adaptor and directing Windows Update to the driver's location directly, without running the setup from the driver folder.

well I just did a fresh install on windows 7 32bit so it pretty clean. just standard windows firewall and mse(needed a quick antivirus while I was at work). it will ask for the wifi key and after I input it and click connect it will just say it cant connect.

All have great reviews. Do your research and make your pick. I'm sure you'll be happy with either one of the above choices!

However, didn't you mention you didn't want to make an online purchase over insecure wifi? I don't think brick-and-mortar retailers sell any of these models :s
