Seagate's SeaTools for DOS

Nothing about Seagate's hardware or software works. I have tried two Backup Plus drives.

I amtrying to use SeaTools, but it does not work either. When I boot from the SeaTools CD it says "f:can't open" in a weird font, and the rest of the text in unreadable. It never gets to the agreement window.

Does Seatools for Windows work?

If the drive is not being detected, it(they) may be defective.

One thing to check is that it has been initialized in disk management(diskmgmt.msc), but many externals come ready to go.

When trying to get the Seatools for DOS working, try to remove all other drives and any card readers/flash drives.

I sdo not know. I am not usng Windows. I am using Mac OS X.

There are no other drives attached.

What is wrong with the drive is another issue in another thread. This thread is about getting SeaTools to run. The reason I am using SeaTools is because I can't format the drive.

I seem to see a rather high number of complaints about Seatools DOS not working right on some Mac systems.

If you have another system(Windows or Mac) you can try on, it may be a good option.
