Install a driver for my network adapter?

hey guys i JUST built my computer and when i insert my ethernet cable in my computer, i get no connection (even though internet is up and running) it says i have to install a driver for my network adapter? what does this mean? and how do i install this "network adapter". iv read other threads about this situation but im still lost lol! im with windows 7

Your motherboard should have come with a CD/DVD with software and drivers on it. You should install them. :)

But might want to check the mobo makers site, they may have a newer version

thanks guys i found the issue HOWEVER now whenever i boot my computer it says im missing a booting device? LOL gg i knew i should have just bought a pc from bestbuy or something.. -_-

Take out any usb drives and CDs from the system, try again. Also check to make sure you have the hard drive listed in the BIOS and that it's listed in the boot device selection. You may want to set it as the first boot device. If you can't see the drive listed, reseat the connectoins for it.
