I'm having a problem with my installation of Win7 OEM. I'm building a new PC using a new Rosewill Challenger case, Gigabyte 970A-DS3 mobo, AMD Phenom II x4 965 BE, CoolerMaster Hyper 212 Plus CPU fan and Corsair Vengence 8GB (2x4GB). My friend gave me his old 300 watt PSU, DVD drive, graphics card and Hitachi DeskStar 750GB HDD (from an HP Elite m9400f desktop with Vista). I got Windows 7 Home Premium SP1 64-bit OEM and installed (or thought I did) it. After choosing Custom Install and picking the partition, the installation proceeded through Step 2 (Collecting Info) and after an hour (I left for a bit) turned off the PC. I tried to turn the PC on but it keeps showing a black screen. Did I do something wrong, is there a step I missed. I didn't get the screen to input license number or any other info. Is there a step by step tutorial somewhere. I'm building this for my daughter's graduation gift ( a few days behind). Any thoughts?
Thank you.

GPU is:
AMD Radeon HD3650, 512 MB DDR2 memory

Was reading on formatting drive. I attempted to format from the Win7 DVD but after "Completing Installation" came up, comp restarted and snd a black screen showed up then shut down after 5 minutes or so. Following Tradesman1's advise (I will be upgrading the GPU eventually)) I ordered a 450W PSU. I also decided (I hope this will work) to use DBAN and wipe the drive. It's currently running now for another 8 hours it says.
I'll try Win7 install again after DBAN is completed and new PSU is in (should be on Wed night).
Keep you all posted. Thanks.

Great news! I finished loading 7! The problem was the simplest fix: the ethernet cable I used had a faulty connection. It took me a bit to figure it out. But everything went fine once I switched it. I was so consumed with the internal parts I forgot to check the connection. But, I'm up and running and, so far, everything looks great. Thanks for the help, onto the next project.
