I am looking to spend some money on my rig which I use primarily for gaming and I was wondering how I could get the greater upgrade in performance. Either an extra GTX 670 run in SLI (I will also need a new PSU) or an i7 4770k (Would need a new MoBo.) I currently have an i5 2500k.

no with an i-5 2500K,you wouldn't be bottle necked at all with a gtx670.u should rather get a good psu and mobo like:

and i think u would be bottle necked with two gtx670's with an i5-2500k;just try to O.C your cpu and the bottleneck won't be noticeable.
i would say you should rather go with a single gtx670 or gtx770(better) and a new mobo along with a good psu and a cpu cooler
