So just over a year ago maybe 2 now i came hre for advice and got and help.

So i come back again to make another build and hopefully will get the same help.

The pc is for gaming and running multiple programs. I would like it to last 2- 3 years. the last pc is fine i guess i caught a bug and just like building better pc's ll

budget £600-700

I have been out of the loop for a while so not sure whats current and what good value right now so im flying blind.

I will need everything as this pc will be sold to a family member.

So i need

OS - win 7

Case - ?

RAM - 16gb may be overkill but i like the sound of it. Im open to 8gb though

HDD and SDD if possible one for os the other for storage unless prices are good and i can get like a 240gb sdd or something

I saw a crucial 256gb for £125
http://www.ebuyer.com/386372-crucial-256gb-v4-ssd-ct256v4ssd2

Graphics something good but not to expensive (this and cpu will probably be the most expensive)

CPU last time I was here I believe ivybridge was about to launch they any good?

PSU 650 watt should do it

after market cpu cooler

Case probably mid tower with additional fans

sites id prefer ebuyer or aria as ive used them and trust them

nice build but the monitor and keyboard arent in price so £100 could be spent elsewhere like

i5 4670k

and better graphics :D

nice build not sure i like the cpu i would rather have 3.4-3.5ghz like the 4670k

also maybe it would be better to have 1 storage ssd at 256 gb crucial and corsair do 1 for around £125 not usre if thats quite enough though i definately like your solution though to the storage 1 of each is probably best that way pc and main games load fast whilst pics and vids etc can go on the HDD

ok i did this

http://uk.pcpartpicker.com/p/17kh3

I might remove the SSD and add more graphics and CPU power though. Any 1 got an SSD that would advise on keeping or removing it?

Also can u see anywhere where i can save money without loosing quality ( cheap doesn't always mean better i find)

may change the cpu for a 3350p as it seems ok but not really sure if i should or not. the extra money would go into graphics. is this advisable? should the grahpihcs be a 7850-70 / 660 / or saved money for a 7950?

same build on ccl computers is £747 but with scandisk 128gb ssd and gigabyte z68ap-d3 mobo
both totals include delivery.

not sure if the mobos are good. is cpu best for money or is it worth maxing out budget to get better 1?

overall the prices are fairly close. if i could save a bit somewhere that would be great. i definitely want the 7950 unless there's a better one for the price.

what are peoples thoughts did i do ok? where could things be changed and improved for same or lower price as this really is the top end of my budget and really i wanted to include 2 extra fans in my build.
i found its better to go to one site as with delivery costs from multiple sites the price is never the same as on pcpartspick

what about cpu thats where im a bit stuck. hyper threading wopuld be nice but i dont think the chips i looked at 3570k and 4570 feature it

oh ok cool so for £800 (without PSU case combo it will be close to this) would you change anything to this? like any 1 i want to squeeze the most out of the budget :D

and u think the I5 3570k is alot better than the I5 4750?

I like your build but heres this, go for socket 1150 and haswell and make sure your psu is haswell compatible, got a corsair cx-750.
Why go for older socket, if youd need juice 5 years later you could add a 6-8 Core, 6-8 core haswell is expected in 2014 and should fit the 1150 socket.

Combined with a nice motherboard supporting both sli and crossfire, you could add another 7950 when the prices will go down.

Also the 7950 Vapor-x OC 3gb boost owns, normally people hate the boost, but for me when overclocking its just nice having dual bios. (it has a manual button on the videocard to turn on boost).
And its a very cool card and lower priced then the XFX.

Remember, haswell just 10 bux more maybe.
